Biden to Allow Eviction Moratorium to Expire Saturday (July 31)
For your general information and update, please see the following Seattle Times article as it relates to President Biden announcing that he will allow the national ban on eviction moratorium to expire on Saturday, July 31, 2021.
The President noted that he would have liked to have extended the moratorium because of the rising cases of the Delta variant of COVID but his hands are tied due to the recent Supreme Court Decision to end the eviction moratorium at the end of July. He did however, call on Congress to extend the eviction moratorium.
As we know in Washington State the moratorium expired and a new “bridge” policy was put in place. And in Seattle most eviction moratoriums will expire on September 30, 2021.
